Barclaycard.

Jan 2015 - Oct 2015

Background

A pan-European design for Barclaycard loans in new and existing markets, working with teams in London, Northampton, Hamburg and Lisbon; as well as an external delivery partner (Thoughtworks), local research partners (IPSOS), and a translation agency. The product was an innovative 100% digital loan process that would get funds to the customer within 24 hours.

Process

For the first part of the project, I was the UX designer involved in intensive design iterations of the data-capture-intense application process, involving multiple third-parties and new methods for identity and income verification. The final part of the project I led the 3-week customer research cycles where a high-fidelity Axure prototype was developed, tested and iterated to garner insight for creating refined designs for our agile sprints. The research was key to exploring how to gain user acceptance of a new way of applying for a loan that was vastly different to the traditional method involving paper forms, post, wet signatures and face-to-face identity verification.
